Preparation

Well begun is half done. Before you get started with attaching the Enzo Pellini wall tiles, the following points are important to know:

  • Allow the leather tiles to acclimatise to the surroundings. Depending on the temperature and humidity, leather can sometimes shrink or expand slightly, just like wood. Allow the opened box to get used to the surroundings in the room where the tiles will be used, for at least 24 hours.
  • Temperature and humidity can affect leather. The ideal temperature is to start applying the leather tiles is between 18ºC and 22ºC. The humidity should be between 40% and 60%.
  • The wall where you are going to attach the leather tiles must be nice and flat, otherwise the leather tiles may not stay in place.
  • We recommend using our primer on the wall before attaching the leather tiles. We have primer in the same colours as our leather The primer ensures a strong adhesion and any small seams are less visible thanks to the same colour tone.
  • Now you are ready start attaching tiles.

Ready in 3 steps

Enzo Pellini leather tiles are ready to use and easy to apply. All tiles have an adhesive layer on the back with a protective layer that you can easily remove. Depending on the choice of pattern you can go through the following simple steps:

Step 1:

Use a leveller to make a line along the wall where you want to attach the leather tiles. This can be horizontal or vertical. Mark the centre with a line. It is best to work from the centre out towards the sides. This way you create an attractive and balanced end result.

Step 2:

Now partially remove the protective film from the back of the tile and stick the first piece of the tile to the wall. Now carefully remove the remaining protective foil and attach the rest of the tile to the wall. Now push firmly and your first tile is a fact.

Step 3:

You can now continue by attaching the other tiles tightly together and if necessary, cut the last pieces to fit using a retractable knife and ruler. Please be careful and make sure to use a cutting board while cutting the tiles. Good luck and enjoy your new eyecatcher in your interior!

#5. Preventing too much visible variation in colour
Before you begin to cover an area larger than 1 m², shuffle all the tiles you plan to use from all the different boxes. This prevents unnecessary variation in colour across a large surface.
